This year, the Welsh Simmental club is celebrating 25 years of existance with the first meeting being held on March 30th 1987. It has been decided that there will be a celebratory dinner held hopefully at the end of April, where the President and Breed Secretary will be invited.

Our new Welsh Council member, who will be representing our region at the British Simmental Cattle Society Council meetings is Aled Davies (Hirwaun), who is currently our clubs Vice-Chairman.
Agri - Expo Carlisle - 28th October 2011

The first ever British Simmental Society National Calf show was held at Borderway Mart, as part of Agri Expo, with an excellent turn out of stock from England, Scotland and Wales. One of our Welsh club members, Anwen Jones, made the 6 hour journey up with a heifer calf "Cefngwlad Cinnamon", and came a respectable 4th out of a strong class of 12, and 1st in the Young handlers. They are hoping with the success of this years show to make it an annual occurence.
Welsh Winter Fair - 28 & 29 November 2011
Well what a year for the Simmentals at this years Winter Fair!!! Not only winning the best breed stand, but overall best trade stand. The stand this year was excellently set out with plenty of promotional material for the eye. The heifer from Wyn Jenkins, and bull from Aled Davies drew a lot of interest from the public. Many thanks go to those members who gave thewir time to man the stand, and interact with the public. Huw Davies had his five minutes of fame as he was interviewed for S4C television programe "Ffermio" One thing is for certain, we have now set a bar, and must continue this standard of stand every year!
